The parish is currently updating its website; it was put
together by Fr. Jenik using FrontPage back in the year 2000. Microsoft has
phased out FrontPage and this seemed like an opportunity to bring the advances
in web design over the last 8 years to the parish's site. As part of the
package, our designers thought a parish logo would be appropriate. They looked
at our website and came up with some designs that reflect who we are and what we
are all about. We sent them photos of the statue of Our Lady of Refuge located
in the vestibule of the rectory. They came up with some possible logos which are
below. So far it seems that numbers 1 and 4 conceptualize best what OLR has been
to people and the neighborhood since 1923.

Mary holding the infant Jesus in the shape of a heart with a
cross on it (#1)seems to tell it all...a parish whose members nurture one another
and their community, a parish whose members take literally the adult Jesus'
command to take up the cross and follow Him. The heart symbolizes Mary's love
for Jesus, Jesus' love for us in which he held nothing back, sacrificing Himself
for us, and the love that has always been vibrantly alive in the words and deeds
of OLR's parishioners.
