Old Church Bulletins from 1974:
Fr. Jenik, pastor@ourladyofrefuge.com, 12/28/05, While some exceptionally enthusiastic volunteers were cleaning the church for Christmas, for the first time in living memory, the tops of the confessionals were dusted; they found two crumpled bulletins. Not many people save bulletins, including parishes; they are throwaway  items. These two bulletins from 1974 give us glimpse into OLR in the 70's....different names, more masses on weekdays and Sundays, 2-3 funerals a week, Square Dances, a MABSTOA Holy Name Society, Ladies Gym Night, sold out St. Patrick's Day Dances, etc. For more on this discovery, please click the News button on the upper left hand side of this page.

Looking For Old Classmates:
    Donna Muscolina
, 193rd St. & St. James Park, '68, 8/16/05  Dridze@aol.com, Hi there, Anyone from the class of 1968 or St. Simon Stock out there ?

Thank You OLR:
    Joseph Duggan,
'70,
jfduggan001@aol.com, 8/12/05, 2661 Decatur Ave., I was the last of five in our family to graduate from OLR.  My parents have both died - Jim and Catherine in the last decade.  OLR was so much a part of my life growing up.  It took a long time for me to differentiate between not liking school and OLR.  I remember most the church more than the school. I always loved going to church at OLR. I was an Altar Boy for several years in the Chapel and in the Church.  I knew when I was four years old that I wanted to be a priest and it kept deepening inside of me throughout my time at OLR. While I studied to be a Roman Catholic priest, God had something else in mind for me. Alas next year I will be ordained an Episcopal Priest in the Diocese of Los Angeles where my wife is also a priest.  I have maintained my Roman Catholic connections through family and friends.  I am delighted that OLR has a website like this where people like me can get reconnected after living some life to check-in with one another.  I just wrote to my friend, Simon O'Donnell, whom I had lost contact with for almost 20 years.  Thank you OLR for my vocation and for rediscovering one of my friends.
